Sustainability governance
Sustainability issues are an integral part of NCC’s normal corporate governance, with the Board, Senior Management Team and employees all having their clear roles. Sustainability work at NCC is also governed by the Group’s sustainability framework, as well as the Code of Conduct and other policies and governing documents. In addition, NCC supports several international initiatives and takes a stance on issues that are important to us.
NCC pursues a fundamental principle that its sustainability work shall be governed and followed up in the same way as all operations in the Group. This means that the CEO is ultimately responsible for sustainability activities.
International principles
NCC complies with the UN Declaration on Human Rights, the ILO Declaration on Fundamental Principles and Rights at Work, the OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises, and the Rio Declaration including the precautionary approach, which means that NCC commits to take precautionary measures to minimize environmental risk. NCC combines audits conducted by its own staff with third-party audits conducted by consultants within the framework of the UN Global Compact and NCC’s membership in the Business Social Compliance Initiative (BSCI).
Quality, environment and OHS certificates
To support efficient management of the business, NCC uses a process-oriented business system that meets the requirements of ISO 9001 (quality), ISO 14001 (environment) and OHSAS 18001/ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety). The ISO certificates ensure that NCC takes action through continuous improvements to our working methods, methodologies and tools.
