NCC building 172 rental apartments in Tensta

NCC has been commissioned by Svenska Bostäder to build 172 rental apartments in the district of Ledinge in Tensta, a suburb of Stockholm. The project is part of the framework agreement for the Stockholmshusen housing project, for which NCC is one of four contractors. The order is worth around SEK 250 million.

The 172 rental apartments are being built in seven blocks with a shared courtyard between the buildings. Three of the blocks will be six floors high and four will be six floors with a lower floor set partially into the ground. The development will stand alongside an artificial football pitch and a basketball court, and the center of Tensta, with its metro station, is only a five-minute walk away.

Svenska Bostäder, Stockholmshem and Familjebostäder are the housing companies behind the joint initiative to speed up the pace of construction and meet the urgent need for more rental properties in Stockholm. The Stockholmshusen housing project has been developed in partnership with the chosen contractors.

The project aims to create thousands of new rental properties at high speed, while maintaining high quality and an environmental focus, at a lower cost than other newbuilds.

The official groundbreaking ceremony took place in June 2018. Residents are expected to move in from 2021.
