The non-profit development company Vantaa Innovation Institute was founded in 2009 to develop the business environment of Vantaa, to support companies’ growth and globalisation and to facilitate their placement in the area. All this requires collaboration with companies, universities, research institutes and educational establishments.

According to Alatalo, Vantaa is one of Finland’s major international innovation clusters. The city has a common border with the Finnish capital and connects easily with the rest of the world, be it by air, rail or road. From Vantaa, the Vuosaari central harbour and even St Petersburg can be accessed without difficulty.

The nearby Helsinki-Vantaa airport is Finland’s only international airport. It ensures good connections with Europe, Asia and America. This is very important, as the Innovation Institute has frequent visitors from abroad.
