The existing road is a black spot for accidents, and the purpose of the project is to improve accessibility and traffic safety for both vehicle motorists and unprotected road users along the route.

“It is gratifying to be part of creating a safer, more secure road for everyone travelling on the E14. Winning the assignment shows that we have competitive and cost-efficient solutions,” says Henrik Löfgren, Division Manager of Infra at NCC Infrastructure.

NCC’s assignment covers a six-kilometer stretch of the E14 between Timmervägen and Blåberget, and includes building a four-lane express road between Blåberget and Nacksta, constructing intersections at Blåberget and Nacksta, constructing five bridges (of which one is a wildlife crossing) and rebuilding the existing road section between the two locations.

The construction project will be planned to ensure a safe work environment while minimizing disruptions to motorists, for example, by constructing temporary bypasses.

Construction work will start in early 2019 and is expected to be completed by the end of 2021.

The assignment is a turnkey contract totaling SEK 455 million. The transaction will be registered during the fourth quarter of 2018 in the NCC Infrastructure business area.
