“We are very happy to be starting construction of the new elementary school at Adolfsfält. This school will offer a modern and sustainable learning environment for students, and we are looking forward to seeing the project evolve. Through our partnership with NCC, we are ensuring that construction of the school will maintain the highest quality with a focus on reduced environmental impact. This is an important step for the future and for Ängelholm,” says Pernilla Nevsten, CEO of Ängelholmslokaler.

NCC’s assignment is to construct a new elementary school in the Adolfsfält area of Ängelholm, as well as a kitchen, sports hall and outdoor area adjacent to the school. The assignment is a turnkey contract in partnering form, where the parties have initially collaborated to plan and design the project together, and agreed on a target cost. The project is now transitioning to the construction phase. The new school is expected to be ready for the autumn term of 2027.

Construction of the school will comply with Miljöbyggnad Silver environmental certification, and in some areas, such as energy use and environmental impact, Miljöbyggnad Gold. To reduce the school’s carbon footprint, climate-improved concrete with considerably lower carbon emissions than conventional concrete will be used, as well as climate-improved steel for the frame and a timber structure for the roof.

“We are delighted to be building another school in Ängelholm Municipality. By partnering with Ängelholmlokaler from an early phase, we have been able to contribute with the lessons learned from other school projects, and valuable experience from building with a lower carbon footprint,” says Niklas Sparw, Head of NCC Building Sweden.

NCC has also recently completed the construction of Villanskolan in Ängelholm.

The order value is approximately SEK 250 million and the order will be registered in the NCC Building Sweden business area in the second quarter of 2025.
