“The station upgrade is necessary to improve the capacity and efficiency of the Oslo metro. The project consists of multiple disciplines and is therefore well suited to our expertise and our capability to implement infrastructure projects in urban environments,” says Kenneth Nilsson, Head of NCC Infrastructure.

NCC’s assignment includes the replacement of tracks and technical equipment, drainage work, and the expansion and refurbishment of platforms, ceilings and roofs, ramps, stairways and services in connection with the station. A new pedestrian and cycle bridge will be constructed over the tracks to the west of the station area.

“Upgrading the Majorstuen station is crucial if the metro is to run more frequently through the center of Oslo in the future. Sporveien is therefore delighted to sign an agreement with NCC for the main works at Majorstuen station. NCC offered the best combination of price and quality. We now look forward to a busy summer of work in 2025,” says Hanna Rachel Broch, Development Manager, Sporveien.

Work will commence in April 2025 and will continue until early summer 2026.

The order value of about SEK 350 million will be registered in the fourth quarter of 2024 in the NCC Infrastructure business area.
