NCC receives order for 200,000 tonnes of asphalt in Norway
NCC has been commissioned to pave a new road section along the E6 outside Trondheim in Norway. The section is 19 kilometers long in total and NCC will lay 200,000 tonnes of asphalt. This makes the asphalt project one of the largest in Norway ever.
It is when Hæhre Entreprenør are building a new road section between Kvithammer in Stjördal municipality to Åsen in Levanger municipality for Nye Veier that NCC has been commissioned to pave. In addition to the assignment to lay almost 200,000 tonnes of asphalt, NCC has also signed a maintenance agreement for 20 years.
“This is a type of project that is of such a magnitude that solid planning and implementation capabilities are central. We have worked with Hæhre Entreprenør for a long time, and it feels good to finally be able to start this asphalt project", says Henrik Bager, head of the NCC’s asphalt business in Norway.
The road section will be built to meet the speed limit requirements of 110 km/h. Along the 19-kilometer long road section there will be four lanes, five tunnels, two bridges and other technical installations.
NCC will lay some asphalt during 2022 and 2023, but the large volumes will come during 2024 – 2026. NCC will then set up a mobile asphalt factory close to the construction site.
The assignment will be registered among orders in the second quarter of 2022 in the NCC Industry business area.
