NCC signs new framework agreement with Specialfastigheter

NCC has signed a new framework agreement with Specialfastigheter for major construction contracts. The framework agreement has an estimated total volume of between SEK 8 billion and SEK 10 billion that four procured contractors will share.

Lund’s new District Court is an example of a facility that NCC has built for Specialfastigheter.

Specialfastigheter owns and manages several of the country’s most secure properties, such as detention and correctional facilities, police properties, national defense headquarters and courts of law.

The agreement pertains to construction contracts larger than SEK 100 million within Specialfastigheter’s existing property portfolio and any new establishments in Sweden. The framework agreement was signed with four contractors that will share the construction contracts that Specialfastigheter will award as suborders during the term of the contract, which is two years with an opportunity for an extension of 2 + 3 years. The estimated value for NCC’s share of the agreement is approximately SEK 2.5 billion over the seven-year period.

“We have now signed our second framework agreement with Specialfastigheter in a short period of time and we believe there could be clear synergies between the contracts. NCC has extensive experience of constructing various types of public property with both high levels of security and a considerable focus on sustainability, so we are confident that we can help generate value for Specialfastigheter,” says Henrik Landelius, NCC Building Sweden business area.

Specialfastigheter is aiming for greater collaboration in its projects as a means of optimizing the results of projects and the framework agreement. This will mean the parties work together and control the fundamental processes in the project, including project engineering, production, delivery and putting the property into operation in accordance with agreed targets.

“We can achieve good results when we work together with shared strategic objectives and are clear about what we want to solve together. The long collaboration that Specialfastigheter has chosen offers us the best possible conditions for a trusting and well-organized cooperation focusing on continuous improvements,” says Henrik Landelius.

NCC and Specialfastigheter have previously collaborated and completed projects that include Lund’s new District Court in 2018 with highly positive results. The project was nominated as Construction Project of the Year.

The framework agreement will begin in April. Any contracts under the framework agreement will be continuously registered in orders in the NCC Building Sweden business area.
